The National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) was established in 1993 as a representative and educational organisation for the professional dog training industry.

As well as offering membership for dog trainers from all fields, the NDTF delivers Australia’s only, Government accredited, nationally recognised, dog trainer certification program.

Through its membership base and educational programs, the NDTF aims to provide a channel of communication for all dog trainers, resulting in ongoing education and mutual support. The Federation also acts as an adviser to Government, (State, Federal and Local), industry and the private sector.

The NDTF encourages trainers to work together to promote higher levels of professionalism, integrity and communication. As an individual we often feel that our voice goes unheard but as a collective group with similar ideals and philosophies, we can effect change and help to steer our industry in the right direction

Membership is available for individuals, as well as businesses and has a wide range of benefits including formal recognition and accreditation to both the public and your peers in your area's of expertise. Membership is available in the categories of obedience, sporting dogs, gun dogs, law enforcement dogs, detector and quarantine dogs, search and rescue, behaviour consultants, etc.
